In Ayodhya, 48 reputed companies issue appointment letters

Ayodhya: In a significant push under the Mission Rozgar campaign, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has provided appointment letters to over 12,000 youth across two districts within two days. This initiative also saw the distribution of more than 17,000 tablets and smartphones to students.

The campaign kicked off with a district-level Rozgar Mela in Ambedkar Nagar on Saturday, where 6,572 youth job seekers received their appointment letters. The following day, a Rozgar Mela in Ayodhya resulted in 5,574 individuals securing positions with private companies. Additionally, 13,866 tablets were distributed to students in Ambedkar Nagar, while over 3,415 students in Ayodhya received  tablets and smartphones.

It is noteworthy that the Rozgar Mela in these two districts were organized under the aegis of the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, the Government Industrial Training Institutes, the Directorate of Training and Employment, and the MSME.

A mega Rozgar Mela was held at Acharya Narendra Deva Agriculture University, Kumarganj, Ayodhya, where 48 prominent companies participated in the presence of the Chief Minister, on Sunday. These 48 companies offered a total of 36,171 job opportunities at the fair. Out of the 10,676 youth who registered for the Rozgar Mela, 5,574 received appointment letters after interviews.

The participating companies included some of the country’s major firms, such as Insta Human Management Pvt. Ltd., Suzlon Energy, Tumbledry Solution Pvt. Ltd., Career Bridge, and IBM, which offered jobs based on the qualifications of the candidates. Most of the job offers were in sectors such as manufacturing, engineering, telecom, healthcare, construction, and IT.

Additionally, under the Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme, more than 3,415 students were provided with tablets and smartphones. This initiative aims to enhance the technical skills of the youth, preparing them for future challenges.

Earlier, on Saturday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed appointment letters to youth, tablets to students, and loan amount cheques to beneficiaries at a large district-level Rozgar Mela and Loan Mela held at Dev Indravati College in Kateri, Ambedkar Nagar. During the event, a total of over 6,752 youth received appointment letters, and 13,866 students were given tablets.

Additionally, 12,774 beneficiaries received loans amounting to Rs 211 crore through 14 banks. In Ambedkar Nagar, stalls were set up by 46 companies. In total, over two days, more than 100 stalls provided employment opportunities to youth.

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Kapil Dev Agarwal stated that the state government is committed to providing new dimensions in employment and skill development for the youth. The Yogi government aims not only to provide employment but also to prepare the youth for national and international competition.

He further mentioned that under the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, free training is being provided to lakhs of youths through schemes such as the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana, PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana and other programs. Over the past seven years, more than 16.50 lakh youths have been trained under this mission, with over 6.70 lakh securing employment.

Kapil Dev Agarwal said that the ‘Project Praveen’ initiative, aims to provide skill training in schools across the state. Under this project, approximately 65,000 students have received free skill training over the past two years. Starting from 2024, this scheme will be expanded to include skill training in major schools across every district in the state.

He also noted that over 5.50 lakh seats are available for youth through 305 government ITIs and 2,932 private ITIs in the state. In the past six years, more than 90 new government ITIs have been established, some of which operate under the PPP model. In line with Industry 4.0, 150 government ITIs are being upgraded with the help of Tata Technologies to provide advanced technical training to the youth.
